We sure did - and it was nothing short of awesome!

We found out that not one but two of our favorite Upper East Siders are pregnant! Josh Schwartz fooled the audience by have Dorota's second pregnancy seemingly be the pregnancy hinted at in the season 4 finale, only to have a seamstress confront Blair about her pregnancy minutes later!

The producers are hinting at a love square between Dan, Louis, Chuck and Blair, but it seems Louis and Chuck are the only two in the running to be the brunette's baby daddy.

Kevin Williamson Brings Serial Killer Drama to FOX

Kevin Williamson is a busy man.

Already responsible for bring "The Vampire Diaries" and "Secret Circle" to television screens, Williamson has reportedly received a pilot commitment from FOX.

The pilot calls Williamson's thriller history ("I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Scream") into account, promising to deliver "an edge-of-the-seat thriller about a diabolical serial killer who uses technology to create a cult of serial killers."

Karlie Kloss Supports Minimum Age Requirements for Models

Karlie Kloss does not live the life of an average 19 year old.

For starters, she had made her rounds on the international modeling circuit before most teenage girls were getting their drivers' license.

As The Cut reported, The Council of Fashion Designers of America have suggested designers not hire girls under the age of 16 to walk in their runway shows, but some designers are ignoring the call.

Kloss had this to say about the age restriction:

"I think it's great. Because I started when I was 15, there's no doubt there are lots of things that I wish, um, you know I dunno - I wish I would have been a little more mature. A little older. Because there's a lot. This career, there's a lot you have to handle and it's somewhat difficult when you're thrown into it and you don't really know what to do."

Fashion photographer Nigel Barker agreed.

"We should see fuller-figured girls, and older! Why don't we just see women? I mean, women are who buy the clothes If you can't put them on a woman, what are you trying to say?"

The CW Picks Up SATC Prequel "The Carrie Diaries"

Looks like fans of "Sex and the City" can rejoice...maybe.

The CW Television Network has reportedly won the green light to air a prequel series to its HBO predecessor.

The show, based off Candace Bushnell's "The Carrie Diaries," will follow Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school. "Gossip Girl" producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz are rumored to be attached to the pilot.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy: "I Will Never Expose This Child"

While most of the baby talk this week has centered on Beyonce and the little bun in her oven, it's hard to forget the gorgeous Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is also expecting.

The French first lady released this statement earlier this week, letting the press know she won't allow the media to publish photos of her baby:

"You don't have a child for the gallery...I understand the media interest [but] for children it's not possible. I will do everything to protect this infant and I'll be absolutely rigorous. I will never show photos of this child, I will never expose this child."

While the public would arguably love to see an image or two of l'enfant, it's understandable the mother would like to keep some things sacred.

Tyler Shields' New Photo Shoot: Is Heather Morris "Barbie" or Battered?

On the popular television show "Glee," the characters have little more to watch out for than Sue Sylvester and the occasional wayward slushee. One of the characters' real-life alter egos, however, is contending with a fair amount of criticism at the moment in response to a recent photo shoot.

Heather Morris has easily been a fan favorite with her portrayal of Cheerio Brittany, but the starlet's recent shoot with Tyler Shields in giving even major "Gleeks" pause.

Shields describes the photos as exploring the idea that "even Barbie can bruise," but critics are accusing him of glamorizing domestic violence. Morris, clad in 1950s dresses, sporting a shiner under her eye and even being tied up with electrical cord, is not hard to see as a victim of faux domestic violence.

Actor Josh Duhamel Raises Money for Flooded North Dakota Hometown

While most people are spending this Labor Day weekend hitting the beach, eating BBQ and laying out, Actor Josh Duhamel is returning to his hometown of Minot, North Dakota, to raise money for victims of a flood that struck the town this summer.

According to KXMC, Duhamel will attend a benefit concert this weekend where wife Fergie will take the stage as part of The Black Eyed Peas.

OMG Yahoo! reported Duhamel, as the honorary chairman of the Minot Area Community Foundation Recovery Fund, is hoping to raise a total of $5 million from his relief efforts.

Concert tickets are $100 each, and more than 12,o00 have already been sold.

Demi Lovato Responds to Weight Criticism at VMAs

Demi Lovato took the stage at the VMA's tonight - along with Chord Overstreet - presenting an award in front of millions of viewers.

It only took seconds after the singer graced the stage for negative tweets about her weight and figure to flood Twitter.

Lovato, who is fresh out of rehab for battling self-injury and eating disorders, took to her Twitter account to voice her opinion.

After one user tweeted "arms were look a tad bit chunky," Lovato responded: "who cares." The tweet was quickly followed "Guess what, I'm healthy and happy, and if you're hating on my weight you obviously aren't. :) #UNBROKEN"

Twilight star Ashley Greene tweeted her support shortly after, calling the singer "beautiful."

"The Hunger Games" Sneak Peek Leaves Much to be Desired

Michelle Obama on Reality TV?!

Don't be alarmed! There's not going to be a White House reality show or a Jersey Shore spin-off at Camp David ... our glamorous First Lady of course is becoming involved in the most touching and classy reality show out there. She's trading in her couture threads for a tool belt and a hard hat - on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Mrs. Obama is slated to appear on the show this October. According to People.com, the Extreme Makeover team "will travel to Fayetteville, N.C., to help expand a community resource center for homeless female vets located just outside of Ft. Bragg, the White House says."

This sounds like an amazing PR move for the First Lady, and will also bring attention to the super-important cause of helping veterans and their families. Mrs. Obama supports this cause along with Dr. Jill Biden with an organization called "Joining Forces."

Now the big question - what will our fashionista First Lady wear? The possibilities are endless, but whatever style she dons, we hope that it brings happiness to female veterans in North Carolina and attention to the veteran assistance cause. Public relations can be a tricky business - and with the industry moving more towards everything "new media" - it's getting even more difficult to navigate the jungle of social media. The biggest mistakes that PR stars (and laypeople alike) make while "utilizing" social media a la Bloomberg Business Week Online:

1. Believing that if you build it, they will come. Just because you brand a Facebook page, YouTube channel, Twitter feed, or blog does not mean that you are using social media.

President Obama to Write His Own Tweets

The president's campaign team announced this past week that Barack Obama would start to personally tweet from his account.

The president's first tweet appeared Friday: "a new @BarackObama. From now on, #Obama2012 staff will manage this account; tweets from the President will be signed "-BO."

The campaign said on its website that the changes "will give us new opportunities to make the most of these channels, using them not only to report what the president is doing every day but to connect to the millions of supporters who will be driving this campaign."

President Obama's Twitter account has more than 8 million followers, making his account the third most followed on the social networking site - just behind Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

With the campaign season gearing up, this seems like a smart move on the president's part. He will be able to at least appear to give his constituents and followers a level of accessibility not previously seen.

Old Navy Debuts Gay Pride T-shirts

Old Navy announced on its Facebook page that the company will be selling rainbow-colored Gay Pride t-shirts in select stores through June (Gay Pride Month) or until supplies run out.

Ten percent of the proceeds will go toward the It Gets Better Project, an initiative to reach LGBTQ youth, who are often the targets of bullying and harassment.

The shirts, which are available in men’s, women’s, and children’s sizes, feature rainbow colors and/or the slogan "Love Proudly" and, in smaller letters, "Pride 2011."

While American Apparel launched a line of “Legalize Gay” shirts, Old Navy (which is owned by Gap) is the first major retailer to debut a line of gay pride clothing. The shirts will retail for $7.50-$14.50.

PBS Hacked; Site Proclaimed Tupac Alive in NZ

A group of hackers named LulzSec broke into the servers for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) last night, posting a fake news article that has the internet abuzz.

The hackers reported that rapper Tupac Shakur is alive and well in New Zealand, along with rapper Biggie Smalls.

LulzSec reportedly hacked PBS’s NewsHour blog and posted passwords for PBS affiliates because the group was angry about PBS’s “WikiSecrets” show, which they viewed as being critical of former U.S. Army intelligence analyst Private First Class Bradley Manning.

PBS has since regained control of its network and is doing damage control.

Ever wonder how people are able to determine someone’s sexual orientation from only a brief encounter? US News reports that people can accurately determine male sexual orientation just by listening to how men pronounce their vowels.

Researchers at Ohio State University conducted a study that was meant to figure out whether strangers could figure out if men were gay or straight just by listening to their pronunciations of monosyllabic words. Fascinatingly, the participants guessed correctly 75% of the time when they heard a vowel.

So the next time someone asks you how your gaydar is so spot-on, you can give them this scientifically-supported conclusion: "Gay E I O U!"

Here’s something I’ve never seen before — a designer handbag that could double as a snack. While the purse pictured above may look exactly like the iconic quilted Chanel 2.55 handbag that fashionistas know and love, it’s actually made out of beef jerky. Seriously.

The meaty Chanel knockoff was made by Nancy Wu, a student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. To make the bag, she sewed together sheets of beef jerky. I bet this purse smells lovely...and I’m sure Lady Gaga is clamoring to get her hands on one of these.

Kim Kardashian Has a Ginormous Engagement Ring

After having dated for six months, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are engaged — and you won’t believe the size of her rock!

The staggering ring, which reportedly costs over $2 million, was designed by Lorraine Schwartz and features a total of 20.5 carats.

"It's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen," Kardashian told People magazine. "It's perfect."

To put things in perspective, TMZ points out that the huge diamond ring is worth almost half as much as her Beverly Hills mansion!!

Humphries, the 26-year-old NBA star, proposed to Kardashian by spelling out “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” with rose petals.

It was only a matter of time before someone came up with the idea. Fashionistas love them some snakeskin bags and shoes — and now, they can even get a snakeskin manicure.

Terri Silacci, a manicurist from Monterey, California, applies discarded snakeskin (naturally shed by snakes) with gel in a two-and-a-half hour process, which requires her to cut the snakeskin to fit each individual nail. The cost of this lengthy, scaly treatment? Between $150-$300.

Silacci, who recently appeared on the Today show to promote her snake nails, says that the manicures last up to three weeks, and pedicures up to 12 weeks.

Want to smell like Justin Bieber? Now you too just like the Canadian pop star wants you to smell, thanks to the launch of his first perfume (not cologne, perfume). It’s apparently a “fruity gourmand” scent, and it’s being marketed toward 14-18 year old girls, naturally.

"Let's be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy!" said the singer. “I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world.”

The fragrance, which will hit department and specialty stores in June, will retail at $35 and all proceeds will go to charity.

Mondo Guerra Previews Jewelry Line

Project Runway’s season eight contestant (and runner-up) Mondo Guerra (who will hopefully be appearing on the upcoming Project Runway all-stars season) is set to launch his own jewelry line, reports New York Magazine.

The jewelry collection, which was inspired by Paco Rabanne and Piet Mondrian, is entirely made of Plexiglass and features lots of primary colors and geometric shapes. It will be sold on Mondo’s website, LoveMondoTrasho.com, for about $35-$45 a piece.

Simple Blood Test Estimates How Long You’ll Live

Want to know when you’re going to die? A blood test that is able to show how quickly you’re aging (and thus how long you’re likely to live) will soon be available for the general public in the U.K.

The controversial $700 Life Length blood test, which will be offered over the counter later this year, is able to provide an accurate estimate of how much time you have left on earth. How? Well, it works by measuring the length of telomeres, which are structures located on the tips of chromosomes; the Independent reports that studies have shown that people who have shorter telomeres often have shorter lifespans.

The test measures whether your biological age as determined by your telomeres is “older” or “younger” than your chronological age, and it’s not able to measure the exact amount of time you have left to live. But if you have shorter telomeres than normal, the Life Length blood test might be useful — you could change your lifestyle habits and work on stress reduction (which can grant a longer life).

Many experts predict that telomere testing (which is one of the best methods of measuring aging) will be common within the next ten years, but many have ethical concerns about the applications of such testing (including life insurance companies and anti-aging products).

Matthew Perry to “Focus on Sobriety”

Matthew Perry, who has been struggling with substance abuse for years, told TMZ yesterday that he’s taking proactive steps toward recovery by taking a month-long break from acting.

In his statement to TMZ, the actor said, “I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery. Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web.”

Perry has been checked into rehab twice so far for his addiction to alcohol and prescription pills, in 1997 and then in 2001. According to Perry’s publicist, the 41-year-old former “Friends” star is taking a break but is not currently in rehab.

Hopefully, the break will help Perry stay on the right track. Good for him for taking time to care for his health!

Meet the Woman Who is Last in Line To The Throne

If not for the mere 4,972 people standing between her and the crown, Karin Vogel would be the queen of England.
Vogel, who has gotten attention in light of the upcoming royal wedding, is last in line to the British throne (according to many genealogists) .

The Wall Street Journal reports that the thirty-eight-year-old is the direct descendant of an 18th century German princess, Sophia of Hanover.

According to Vogel, she’s perfectly happy to be last in line.

“I can lean back and relax,” she said.

Foot Fetish: Unusual Footwear Designer Sure to Attract Big Names

Kobi Levi seems to be the equivalent of Gaga in the footwear design world.

He takes his inspiration from furniture, fruit, and even dogs. Take a look at the shoes above and you'll see he's not kidding.

The designer believes, "Inspiration can come out of nowhere, from an image that pops up in my mind and I decide to explore it, or I choose a theme/concept and design with related images."

Considering his design aesthetic and his relishing of outside influences, it's no surprise he'd turn to the fashion industry for inspiration - and it comes as no shock that McQueen and Vivienne Westwood are some of his favorite designers.

When asked who he wished would wear his designs, Levi brought up Gaga and Madonna.

"They experiment and change their image a lot and they do not stay within conventional boundaries. It could be very interesting to collaborate with a pop-star or an artistic video/photo shoot."

Surprising correlation of the day: apparently, male attractiveness can be gauged by looking at the length of a guy’s … fingers. Seriously! A new study by researchers at the University of Geneva in Switzerland found that the ratio between the length of a man’s right index and ring fingers is linked to facial attractiveness.

The ratio is being called 2D:4D (for second digit: fourth digit), and is determined by the amount of testosterone hormones a man is exposed to in utero. Levels of testosterone exposure in the first trimester contribute to facial development, which is why a greater, more “masculine” 2D:4D ratio can predict sexiness.

So in addition to checking for a ring, you now have another reason to ogle a guy’s ring finger —the longer it is than his index, the hotter he probably is. But you should check his face too, just to be sure.

Chris Colfer Sells Pilot to Disney

Glee star Chris Colfer is at it again! The 20-year-old Golden Globe winner, who can sing, dance, and act, is apparently a talented writer as well — and he’s just sold a pilot for a new show to the Disney Channel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be entitled “The Little Leftover Witch,” based off of Florence Laughlin’s children’s book by the same title. The show is about a young witch who falls off of her broom down to earth and ends up living with a non-magical family.

What you might not know is that this isn’t Colfer’s first writing gig; he also wrote an indie coming-of-age movie, “Struck by Lightning,” which is set to begin filming this summer.

Sophia Bush Partners with Marie Claire to Investigate "Moral Crimes" in Afghanistan

James Frey to Appear on Oprah: Will She Rip Him Into "A Million Little Pieces" Again?

The NY Post's Tara Palmeri is reporting that James Frey, author of "A Million Little Pieces," will appear as one of the final guests on The Oprah Winfrey Show this season.

Winfrey recommended her readers pick up his best-selling memoir, but then later had the author on the show and tore into him after he revealed he had fabricated parts of the story. Frey reportedly fled to France for a time because of the backlash.

According to a source, the author and talk show host have since resolved their issues, and Frey will appear on her show next month to talk about what has happened since his last appearance on the show.

Frey's latest book, "The Final Testament of the Holy Bible," is out tomorrow, and according to Palmeri, the book is going to be nothing if not controversial:

"Frey is set to ignite another fire storm with his new book, in which the Second Coming of Christ takes place in the Bronx projects -- but the messiah turns out to be a former alcoholic who impregnates a prostitute. It's being published in a limited edition of 10,000 copies by Gagosian Gallery and as an e-book by Frey and WME."

Demi Lovato Reveals She Suffers from Bipolar Disorder, Joins "Love is Louder" Movement

Demi Lovato, who has recently spent time at a treatment facility for emotional problems, is taking very brave and honest steps to be open about her struggles.

The actress and singer revealed, among other things, her struggle with food and cutting, and yesterday, she announced she is suffering from bipolar disorder.

Demi announced:

"I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar. Looking back it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I'd be up until 5:30 in the morning."

This announcement comes days after Catherine Zeta-Jones publicly sought treatment for bipolar II disorder. At the time, Lovato tweeted her encouragement, saying, "I don't know Catherine Zeta-Jones personally but what she has decided to do it SO brave.. And SO difficult but worth it... I'm proud of her."

A Susan Boyle wax sculpture was unveiled yesterday at Madame Tussauds, and it looks just like her!

Boyle, who became an instant celebrity after her appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2009, unveiled the wax figure at the new Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, England.

The figure took four months to create and sports one of Boyle’s own dresses; the Daily Mail reports that Boyle is pleased with the final result.

"'What can you say? They have done a very good job. It feels fantastic," she told the paper. "It was such a great process to be involved in and it looks very realistic."

World's Most Expensive Shoes Can't Sell

Ever wanted to walk around in shoes made out of solid gold and diamonds? Now you can!

Made by British jewelry designer Christopher Michael Shellis, the shoes pictured above cost a staggering $319,460, making them the most expensive pair of shoes in the word.

The shoes, which took three years to make, feature over 2,000 diamonds — about 30 carats worth, that is.

According to Shellis:

“The aim of this was to create a unique form of jewellery which you can wear on your feet. It’s a bit like if you found these on an archaeological dig in thousands of years time they would be regarded as a treasure – a treasure of the feet. But like any great treasure it will remain as beautiful as the day it was created – and we even offer an ‘eternity’ guarantee lasting 1,000 years.”

Apparently, though, the designer’s enticing sales pitch hasn’t managed to lure any customers; no one has bought a pair of the ridiculously expensive shoes yet (even though they’ve been on the market for five months now). Maybe the world’s millionaires have better taste than we thought?

Nicholas Cage Arrested for Domestic Abuse

Nicolas Cage was arrested early this morning in New Orleans, Louisiana and is now facing domestic violence charges.

A taxi driver called police officers to break up a fight between the actor and his wife. Sources told TMZ that the actor was very drunk and would not go home when he was asked to by the police officers, daring them to arrest him — and they did.

He was booked on on one count of domestic violence and one count of disturbing the peace before being released on bail. On top of all that, just yesterday the news surfaced that Cage has been targeted by the IRS for failing to pay over $600,000 in taxes, reports starpulse.

Cage has been married to Alice Kim since 2004, and the couple has a 5-year-old son.

Florida Criminals Pull Off Astonishing Vegetable Heist

Here’s one that’ll go down in vegetable-crime history: a group of Florida criminals recently managed to somehow steal six tractor-trailer loads of tomatoes, as well as a truck full of cucumbers and a truckload of meat.

So why did the veg bandits (who still haven't been caught) go for food and not flatscreens? Well, for one thing, the price of tomatoes is currently sky-high in Mexico (due to a freeze). The value of the stolen produce altogether? Believe it or not, about $300,000!

Which begs the obvious question – how did they manage to pull that off? Apparently the thieves set up a fake trucking company called “E&A Transport Express” and waited for tomato prices to peak before pulling their amazing vegetable heist.

China Bans Time Travel!

This is not a joke. Chinese government censors recently issued new guidelines that effectively ban TV shows that feature time travel.

Why would they ever do something so ridiculous? Well, apparently they’re upset over an influx of movies and television shows where Chinese citizens travel back in time to an ideal period before the Communist takeover.

"The time-travel drama is becoming a hot theme for TV and films," said authorities, "but its content and the exaggerated performance style are questionable. Many stories are totally made-up and are made to strain for an effect of novelty. The producers and writers are treating the serious history in a frivolous way, which should by no means be encouraged anymore."

So sadly, the people of China won’t get to enjoy Bill and Ted’s 3 when it hits theatres. Unless they travel back in time before China issued this stupid ban.

Vanessa Hudgens, the Sucker Punch star whose graphic photos recently cropped up online, said in an interview with People magazine that the internet is the “worst invention ever.”

Trollz Get Sexy

Chances are, you probably don’t associate Troll dolls with sex appeal. The ugly pug-nosed, wild-haired, and pudgy-bodied dolls that debuted in the 1960s have gotten an extreme makeover to keep up with the times.

This is actually the brand’s second attempt to revive the toys — their last attempt in 2006 wasn’t very successful, so the re-styling is probably an attempt to revive the Trollz line.

“Today” described the sexy new line of (decidedly not troll-like) Trollz, saying:

“…Recently they've been updated — while they still have only four fingers on each hand, the new Trollz line created for the animated TV series by DiC Entertainment features short skirts, bare midriffs, giant eyes, and even styled hair.”

An animated cartoon series is also in the works.

Study Shows How Designer Clothes Improve Your Life

Good news for the fashionistas out there: wearing designer clothes will actually improve your life! There’s just one catch — the designer pieces you wear must sport a logo in order for you to reap the benefits.

So why does the label matter? A new study shows that designer logos can grant their wearers benefits ranging from increased cooperation, money, and job recommendations!

In one experiment, volunteers rated a man wearing a polo shirt with a designer logo as being more suitable for a job than when his shirt did not have a logo on it, and they recommended a higher salary.

Not only do designer logos have the ability to alter the way others perceive us, but they also have the power to change the way we are treated. Surprisingly, donors even gave more money to charity when the women who were raising the money were wearing designer shirts!

Why is this so? The Economist reported that researchers believe that the labels are perceived as symbols of quality (since they are an obvious status symbol).

U.S. Plans to Use Social Media to Issue Terror Alerts

Code Red! Just kidding. The Department of Homeland Security announced their plans to eliminate the infamous color-coded threat system in January and try something completely different instead.

Now, the scary, panic-inciting Homeland Security Advisory System will be replaced on April 27th with the all-new National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) — in the form of Tweets and Facebook messages. No kidding.

According to Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, the NTAS is:

“a new system that's built on a clear and simple premise: when a threat develops that could impact you — the public — we will tell you. We will provide whatever information we can so you know how to protect yourselves, your families, and your communities.”

Napolitano also said that the news system will provide alerts with a “specific end date,” instead of the current system that encourages a pervasive state of lingering anxiety that really just doesn’t make sense.

Hopefully the new system will be easier to comprehend, more informative and more useful than the last.

How many times a day do you check your Facebook? Do you often check it without even realizing that’s what you’re doing? Maybe you’re addicted — the results of a new study conducted by the University of Maryland’s International Center for Media & the Public Agency seem to say that addiction to social media is possible.

The study of 1,000 students from all around the world — including the US, Mexico, China, Argentina, and the UK — found that those who gave up the Internet (and all other forms of media) felt intense withdrawal symptoms within 24 hours. This led the researchers to believe that Internet addiction is real, although there is much debate about such an addiction as a clinical diagnosis.

Students from the US and from China reported feeling the highest incidence of feelings of addiction when they were completely separated from all forms of media, including cell phones, Internet, music, video games, and television — even though the separation was only for one day.

Students from 10 countries—including the US, Mexico, China, Argentina, the UK—all reported distress, isolation, confusion, boredom, and a feeling of addiction when they had to go 24 hours without any form of media, including Internet, music, games, news shows, and their cell phones.

However, the numbers were not all equal—students from the US and China (mainland and Hong Kong) showed the highest percentages of feeling addicted, at 23 and 22 percent respectively. Ugandans had the least trouble with the experiment, and Argentina had the highest percentage of students who failed to complete it.

Those who failed fell into two categories — those who needed media for work or school, or those who simply could not bear to go 24 hours without some form of media.

Is Meredith Vieira Leaving NBC's "Today" Show?

Following yesterday’s news that Katie Couric might return to daytime TV, there are now rumors circulating that Meredith Vieira (who took Couric’s spot beside co-host Matt Lauer in 2006) is expected to leave NBC's “Today” when her contract expires later this year.

Two anonymous sources told TV Guide that Vieira, 57, is ready to move on and that the early morning hours and the health of her husband (who has struggled with multiple sclerosis and cancer) are other deciding factors.

Reportedly, NBC is doing everything they can to convince Vieira to stay. Insiders at NBC News have also said that if she does decide to leave, her position will most likely be filled by news anchor Ann Curry.

Katie Couric to Leave CBS, May Launch Syndicated Talk Show

According to The Daily News, Katie Couric will not renew her contract with CBS this June and will instead launch her own syndicated talk show.

Couric, who has held an anchor position with CBS for the past five years, was the first solo woman to serve as an anchor of network evening news.

Although a CBS spokesperson told The Daily News, "We’re having ongoing discussions with Katie Couric," the anchor's own spokesperson has remained silent on the matter.

The speculation, as the public knows, comes right as Oprah's last season is coming to a close. With Winfrey's exit, the field is wide open for a new syndicated talk show. If Couric is looking to take over that realm, it looks like she is well on her way.

Woman Spends Thousands to Look Like a Drag Queen

By definition, drag queens are men, but 21-year-old Collagen Westwood (pictured above) has spent over $8,000 on plastic surgery, collagen injections, and clothing to look exactly like a bona fide “drag queen.”

Westwood, an aspiring singer who has admired drag queens since she was a child, said she intends to have breast augmentation and have some of her ribs removed so she can wear tighter corsets.

“I have a couple of different wigs that I wear when I go out, and people are always assuming I’m a transvestite. I love it when people mistake me for a man. It doesn’t offend me – I think drag queens look fantastic,’ she said. “They’re glamorous and beautiful – what woman wouldn’t want to look like that?”

Rutgers University Pays Snooki More Than Toni Morrison

Unfortunately, this isn't an April Fool’s prank — Rutgers University in New Jersey paid Snooki (the star of MTV’s "The Jersey Shore") $2,000 more in speaking fees than they’re paying Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning author Toni Morrison, who is set to deliver a graduation address on May 15.

"We have more than 200 events on our campus during the course of the year, everything from scholarly presentations to entertainment," Rutgers spokesman Steve Manas said in a statement. "The students canvassed for who they wanted here and had the funds available."

Snooki, who spoke to a crowd of over 1,000 people on Thursday, was paid $32,000 by Rutgers University Programming Association — and some students are unhappy at how their tuition money was spent.

Chris Brown Apologizes for GMA Meltdown

Chris Brown has (wisely) issued a public apology for his tantrum (which resulted in a broken window and Brown ripping off his shirt) after an interview and performance on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” The R&B singer claimed to have gotten angry after being asked about his abuse of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which supposedly went beyond the talking points of the interview (which ABC denied, saying that no talking points were offered).

Brown recently appeared live on BET’s “106 & Park” and said:

"First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really looked, and [was] disappointed at my actions … Because I'm disappointed in the way I acted.”

He went on to say that he had to release “the anger that [he] had inside” and he described the backstage incident/meltdown as his way of letting off steam.

Brown has since been invited to appear again on “GMA.”

Lifetime Promotes "Project Five:" Finds A-List Stars to Direct

Lifetime is launching a new venture, titled "Project Five," which will feature a series of five short films depicting the lives of different breast cancer survivors.

Lifetime has already lined up several A-list stars to direct the films, including Jennifer Aniston, who will make her directorial debut.

Aniston will be joined by Demi Moore and Alicia Keys who have also been tapped to direct.

Aniston released the following statement about the project:

Perez Hilton is easily the most recognizable name - and face - in the world of celebrity blogging. He announced yesterday that he would soon release a children's book; Hilton's site receives more than 200 million hits per month, which begs the question why switch media when he has such a choke hold on the online world?

Readers, if you recall, Perez Hilton used to tout his site as "the most hated," because he often drew inappropriate images over celebrities' faces and created hateful nicknames for them (i.e, - "Maniston").

After taking a staunch opposition to bullying last year in the wake of numerous suicides by the victims of bullying, Perez confessed to taking a long look in the mirror after being called a hypocrite - how could he be anti-bullying when he was arguably the biggest bully on the web?

The blogger took to his site to offer up a sincere apology in the form of a video and vowed to change his ways. And from the looks of it, he has kept true to that promise. His book touches on similar themes of isolation, accepting differences, and promotes tolerance.

His book, The Boy With Pink Hair, according to the press release, is "the story of a child born with a shock of fabulous hair that sets him apart from his peers. While some find this difference hard to accept or understand, THE BOY WITH PINK HAIR uses the opportunity to find what makes him special and share it with the world."

The Boy With Pink Hair is due out September of this year.

Naturally, Abercrombie is facing backlash for the swimsuits, which have been accused of contributing to the sexualization of children.

Sylvester Stallone Clothing Line in the Works

The line will be sold at department stores next year and will be aimed at men aged 25-40.

Supposedly, Rocky and Rambo are the inspiration for the collection. Uh-huh…

But Michael Henry, president of Stallone’s company told Women's Wear Daily that "Rocky at the end of the day is a love story, while Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity, he's a loner,” and that the line will cater to a man who’s both a"rebel and [a] gentleman."

Elizabeth Taylor Dies at Age 79

ABC News reported that iconic movie star Elizabeth Taylor has died today at the age of 79 of congestive heart failure. Her family was by her side at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles when she passed away, and her son, Michael Wilding, issued the following statement:

"My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world.

"Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts."

In her lifetime, Taylor earned five Oscar nominations and was involved in eight marriages — her personal life earned her as much fame as did her prolific acting career (which began when she got her first film role at age ten).

Since the news of her death was announced, many celebrities have come forward to pay tribute to her career, including Sir Elton John, Michael Caine, and Joan Collins.

AP Changes E-mail to Email

E-mail will no longer be the same. The Associated Press announced Friday that e-mail is now email — that’s right, without the hyphen. For PR professionals and reporters everywhere, this is actually a big deal.

AP made the announcement on its Twitter feed:

“Language evolves. Today we change AP style from e-mail to email, no hyphen.”

Last year, AP finally decided to change Web site to website and cell phone to cellphone.

The latest changes will be reflected in the 2011 edition, as well as in the online AP Stylebook.

As if swimsuit season wasn't stressful enough, Hervé Léger has debuted a piece of swimwear that you - get this - can't get wet.

The aptly named "sunsuit," which costs $1,050, is not even designed to flatter. The zipper in the back is clearly unreachable, while the cutout over the midsection is the stuff nightmares are made of for most women.

Katie Holmes Debuts New Handbag Line

Katie Holmes and stylist Jeanne Yang have been working together to create a brand new line of handbags, after their successful lines of women and children’s clothing.

The duo previewed their Fall 2011 Holmes & Yang collection on Saturday at Barneys in Beverly Hills.

Holmes and Yang teamed up with Italian designers from Valextra (one of Holmes’ favorite brands) to create their handbag collection, which features simple but beautiful bags.

The line’s first handbag will be available in July exclusively at Barney’s. Retail price is set for 3,950 dollars.

Awesome Supermoon Out Tonight

If you haven’t seen it already, you should step outside tonight and check out the awesome “Supermoon” that’s lighting up the night sky.

Scientists say the moon will look 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than it usually does at its peak.

Tonight’s moon is the largest full moon in almost 20 years — the moon is 221,565 miles away from Earth, the closest it has been to our planet since March 1993.

You really don’t want to miss this — the moon won’t be this close to Earth again until 2029!

NASA emphasized that the moon’s near proximity to earth won’t cause natural disasters, although there are expected to be high tides tonight.

All Dolled Up: PCD Reality Show Is Brainchild of Robin Antin, Kim Kardashian

Just after Kim Kardashian tweeted a casting call for those ladies who want to join the Pussycat Dolls, TooFab is announcing that PCD co-creator Robin Antin is partnering with the mogul to produce a reality show.

The as-of-yet unnamed reality show will follow the growth of the PCD franchise, including the casting of a new PCD group.

Although some may roll their eyes at Kim's latest gig, Kardashian is no stranger to producing shows. She was credited as a producer on the E! series "The Spin Crowd."

Weighty Issues: Vogue Italia EIC Launches Petition Against Pro-Anorexia Websites

A recent study from the University of Haifa has shown that the time spent on Facebook is directly linked to increased instances of anorexia, bulimia, and other side effects of a negative physical self-image.

One significant aspect of the study was the positive correlation between images of fashion online and on television and eating disorders.

Vogue editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani, after reading the results of the study, has started a petition against pro-anorexia (or "pro-ana") websites and blogs, noting that these sites were in fact worse than Facebook.

It may seem odd that someone so prominent in the fashion industry, an industry often accused of convincing young men and women to reach an unnatural thinness, is standing up against sites and blogs that promote eating disorders, but Sozzani believes the claims against the fashion industry are not what they seem.
