The Billionaires Club: J. K. Rowling Reveals Harry Potter Offers to Oprah

This past Friday, The Oprah Show aired an interview between Oprah Winfrey and J.K. Rowling, a meeting of the billionaires club, if you will.

The beloved author of the Harry Potter series discussed, among other things, the unique institution of celebrity from a writer's perspective and her difficult journey from single mother to billionaire.

One interesting revelation Rowling made included some lucrative, almost unbelievable offers she passed up once her series achieved the worldwide acclaim it enjoys today - including one from the King of Pop himself.

Rowling divulged that Michael Jackson approached her to turn her series into a musical. The author, however, turned him down.

Thankfully, Rowling did not pass up the chance to turn the Harry Potter series into a fantastical theme park, because she "knew it would be incredible."

Whitney Port Announces New Collaboration - Blogging for Wetpaint.com

Fashion designer and reality starlet Whitney Port now has another credential to add to her resume: blogger.

Port recently announced her new partnership with Wetpaint.com, a site that is tailored for women who love TV and fashion.

On her personal blog, http://www.whitneyport.celebuzz.com/, Port revealed a guilty secret - that she enjoys watching Gossip Girl, taking equal pleasure in the fashion and drama.

Her first blog, a post on the characters' styles for the most recent episode, was posted three days ago. In it, she divulges that she will be blogging for the site for the next few months.

Port is not the only MTV reality star to take up a different career in the past few months. The Hills' alums Lo Bosworth and Lauren Conrad have both spent the better part of the last few months working on their off-camera careers.

Bosworth has launched thelodown.com, a site to accompany her book by the same name (due out soon). Conrad dabbled in fashion design in her time away from The Hills, but recently announced she would be making her return to MTV and reality television.

Bugging Out: Are Insects the Newest Fad in Fashion?

Earlier today Glamour Fashion (@glamour_fashion) tweeted a picture of one of Roger Vivier's newest clutches with this caption: "Entomophobics beware: Bugs are big for spring 2011 (First Lanvin's chokers, now this Roger Vivier clutch...)."

Quick question, readers - do you consider insects the latest trend in ready-to-wear? Or are you bugging out at the thought of creepy crawlers ending up anywhere near your couture?
