Betsey Johnson Does The Plaza Hotel

Next time you're in New York City and looking for a place to stay, you might want to consider The Plaza Hotel.

This past Thursday the famed Plaza Hotel unveiled its new Eloise Suite, paying homage to one of its most famous fictional residents.

The suite, designed by Betsey Johnson, is gorgeous. Alight in different hues of pink and accented with white and gold, the room is a feminine dream.

True, it will cost a pretty penny to stay the night (and by a pretty penny, I mean $3,040), but if you have an occasion, the money to spare, and a daughter who is an Eloise fan, it might be worth your while.

Because Some Days You Need More Than Dunkin Donuts To Get You Going

It's no secret to anyone that the PR industry is demanding.

It takes its toll day after day, while you try your best to secure positive press for your clients. There are no mental health days. There are rarely vacations. The press is a 24 hour machine, and so you must be too.

I've seen the following video making the viral rounds for the past few weeks, and I thought today would be the perfect day to remind you all how to stay positive when you're tired, sick, aggravated at that one press contact who won't return your calls, etc.

So when you wake up tomorrow, before you rush out to take over the world and scratch some tasks off your never-ending to-do list, consider this spunky tot, Jessica, and her daily affirmations:

If you're a fan of soccer players, men in suits, or fashion in general, pay close attention.

Dolce & Gabbana recently announced their three year partnership with London's Chelsea Football Club.

According to Women's Wear Daily, "The players' outfits include a three-piece, two-button suit in dark blue wool twill, a blue poplin shirt, and a blue jacquard tie. Chelsea's lion crest will be embroidered on the suit's pocket."

This partnership follows the one the Chelsea Football Club had with Giorgio Armani for the previous three years.

It's in the Bag: Our Must Haves for an orGLAMic Summer!

Just because July is almost over doesn't mean there isn't time to embrace the season with some summer sun this weekend!

We caught up with Sandra Sanchez (the gorgeous woman pictured above who founded orGLAMic, her site for sustainable luxury living), where she dished on why it's important to her to be eco-friendly:

"It's important to be eco-minded while purchasing new products because every small item makes a different. Whether it is something vintage, or something made out of recycled materials or organic or sustainable fabric, each eco-conscious product that you buy in place of a conventional one affects our planet and our personal health. orGLAMic features products that are eco-friendly yet that don't compromise style."

We couldn't let her get away without telling us what should be in our style repertoire this weekend, so here you have Sandra's summer picks:
"Must Haves for an orGLAMic Summer:"

Sea Bag totes:

Made of our recycled sails, these durable, machine-washable bags are eco-friendly and chic. Available in small, medium, and large and in seemingly-infinite colors and designs, each bag is unique. Not only is this super-flattering, but it gives me the opportunity to spread the idea that eco-friendly can be fashion-forward!
Jungle Gurl bikinis:

Inspired by model/actress Natalie Golonka's travels around the world (and all the great scarves, clothes and fabrics she picked up along the way!) these one of a kind bikinis are made from recycled vintage garments and are uber-flattering in their simple, string-bikini styling. Vintage-lovers Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe are both fans of this line.

Intelligent Nutrients Certified Organic Anti-Aging Mist:

All of the products from this eco-friendly, organic line are divine, but this mist is a summertime favorite. While intended for use as a prep for the Anti-Aging Serum, you can also toss this into your beach bag as a great mid-day pick up. The light mist is refreshing and free of silicone, parabens, petrochemical and synthetic fragrances - orGLAMic indeed!

Soleo Sunscreen:

Protect your skin and the planet with organic sunscreen from Soleo organics. This all-natural sunscreen is formulated without the use of chemical-UV absorbers, titanium dioxide or synthetic preservatives. Water-resistant and biodegradable, this powerful product is great for sensitive skin and athletes alike. This sunscreen was also voted #1 by the Environmental Working Group.

Drink Skinny Margarita Mix:

This margarita mix is the perfect addition to any outdoor soiree. Made with real fruit juices, this mix combines all-natural sweeteners (stevia and agave nectar) for its delightful flavor. And if you want to stay in bikini shape, remember that this mix only has 20 calories per serving. Now just how many you have is up to you! ;)

Make sure to check out these items before your trip to the shore this weekend, and read orGLAMic each weekday to see the featured product of the day!
Special thanks to Sandra Sanchez for talking with us about her Must Haves! To learn more about orGLAMic, please visit their site (www.orGLAMic.com) or follow Sandra on Twitter at @orGLAMic.

Miu Miu - I love you

Ah, September - a fashionista's favorite time of year. Boasting Fashion Week and Fashion's Night Out among other things, September is a time to marvel at beauty, creation, and magic. And thankfully, September now arrives in August.

If you're a devoted reader of fashion magazines, you know that the September issues are the most important to come out all year - and you'll know that the issues actually arrive a month earlier. I, for one, cannot wait to grab my Vogue, Vanity Fair, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and flip through the glossy pages.

But, alas, it's not September (or even August) yet. Until then, I get my fashion fix on sites like the Cartoon Styles blog (http://cartoonstyles.blogspot.com/). Just a few days ago, I came across the new Miu Miu ads for the Fall/Winter 2010/11 seasons.

Miu Miu, I love you - that is all I can say. I thought I knew what magnificence was when I saw your shoes with birds in flight painted on the heels last season - that is, until I saw the bows on your collars and metal flower details on your garments.

That is when I realized what magnificence truly is.

I'm as much of a fan of utilitarian looks as the next girl, but I silently cheered when I discovered that feminine touches are back with a pretty vengeance! Hurrah! Bring on the seductive hues and lace details! Surprise me with bows and pleating! Dazzle me with sequins and feathers and voluminous shapes!

With only a few weeks until the September issues hit the stands, I can relax knowing that femininity is once again reigning supreme and rearing its regal and beautiful mane.
