Calling it Quits in 2011

Oprah Winfrey announced on her show on Friday that on the 25th year anniversary of The Oprah Winfrey Show she is calling it quits. She fought tears as she spoke to her audience and TV viewers when she broke the news. It was an emotional day for all. Oprah, for over 20 years has given more than just a great talk show. She has given people all over the world hope, love, and the gift of life. Oprah is said to be known as one of the most influential women of all time. From the kindness of her heart she reaches out to those in need whenever and however she can. Building schools in Africa, doing giveaways on her show, and just expressing her feelings to the world are only a few ways Oprah has brightened days and changed lives.

It is a bitter sweet ending to such a successful program and woman. A lot of prayer and hard earned thought went into Oprah's decision. "Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and feels right in my spirit," -Oprah. If it feels right, than go for it. MSM PR is behind her decision 100%. Oprah has been such an influence and inspiration to our team as well. She is a powerful woman and she leaves a mark wherever she goes. We look up to her and hope to have some of the same qualities as Oprah.

Even though the show is coming to an end, it is far from the end for Oprah. She will continue to impact lives with her magazine, O and her entire empire OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. OWN is going to be replacing the now Discovery Health Channel and will be viewed in about 74 million homes. That's a lot of Oprah! She isn't closing the door she is just closing one chapter in her life. We are here for the ride and can't wait to see what she has in store next. MSM PR wishes her much success and continued happiness in whatever she chooses to do in the years to come.

Taylor Jacobson Moving On From Rachel Zoe

During the second season of the Rachel Zoe Project it became very evident to all the viewers that the fan favorite Taylor Jacobson was growing increasingly unhappy with her position with Rachel Zoe. Taylor first caught our eye on the first season as the right-hand woman to Zoe, and we became enfatuated with her personal style. It was very disappointing to see her not feel satisfied with her career during the second season. Although, she repeatedly voiced her desire to leave if she was not given a position in Zoe's quest towards branding, Taylor never actually quit during the filming of the show. We were all left with the question as to whether or not Taylor would ever deliver on her threat.

Well about a month ago news broke out that Taylor has actually left Rachel and Brad and his short shorts. Taylor has decided to begin styling on her own and judging on her personal style it should not be long when her name is being spurted from all the major celebrities. We can not wait to see her succeed and to follow her career. Taylor is already making strides being hired as a fashion correspondent for E!. Taylor was recently on E!'s Fashion Police with Giuliana Rancic. Taylor gave her opinion on the ensembles of the New Moon cast during the movie premier and we loved all of her suggestions and ideas. Good luck Taylor Jacobson, we know that you will be very successful!

Unicef Snowflake Lighting

UNICEF STAR CELEBRATES 25 YEARS!

Last night, November 19, 2009, MSMPR24Seven had the pleasure of covering the UNICEF lighting of the Snowflake on 5th avenue and 57th street. The event which took place at the Louis Vuitton flagship store was filled with winter cheer. The 25th anniversary of the Snowflake lighting was hosted by UNICEF ambassador and movie star Lucy Liu. Along with Lucy was the president of UNICEF, Caryl M. Stern, and North-American president of Louis Vuitton, Daniel Lalonde. The trio were obviously proud to be a part of the event. Caryl M. Stern was passionate about the goals of UNICEF, and spoke of the similarity between the Snowflake and children. Caryl stated that like the Snowflake, children are beautiful and delicate, therefore, we must cherish and help children every chance we have.

UNICEF also gave the opportunity to the adorable group Broadway Kids Care to sing winter themed songs in the opening and closing of the event. The kids looked just irresistible in their matching baby blue scarves and beanie hats. They were all so amazingly talented and their voices were surprisingly powerful, you just couldn't help but fall in love with them.

After a countdown from the hosts the switch for the Snowflake was turned on, and all at the event were breathless. The Snowflake is a huge sculpture at the intersection of 5th avenue and 57th street, and cannot be ignored. It is no denying that the Snowflake has become a symbol of the beautiful atmosphere during the holidays in NYC. As New Yorkers MSM PR and the city of NY is proud to have the Snowflake be a part of our beautiful city. The Snowflake certainly makes us all excited for the holidays to come.

Chic Chatting: "A Happy Mistake", and the newest chic way to do business on Twitter

Some of the best and most successful innovations happen simply by mistake. Christian Louboutin's signature fierce red soled pump was a masterpiece created by a "happy accident", as he likes to call it. When Mr. Louboutin's got back his first prototypes, he felt something was missing, and there just happen to be a girl sitting next to him, painting her nails a red Chanel color. So, he grabbed the polish and painted the sole, and Voila!! The CB red bottomed pump was born!

MSMPR had a similar "happy accident" happen this past week, which has since changed the way that people are conducting their business on twitter. It was a normal, hectic work day, full of meetings to set up and fun and exciting projects to get started. We were tweeting back and forth with @VintageRedux trying to set up a meeting, and accidentally wrote "chicchatting" instead of chitchatting..easy typo. So, we followed up quickly with another tweet, excusing the typo, saying "sorry, correction: chitchatting". To our surprise and amusement, they responded back by tweeting, "No, we love it, chicchatting!"; and with that, #chicchatting instantly became a trend on twitter..we've all been using it in our daily business lives ever since.
So what is chicchatting, you may ask? It seems obvious and easy enough for us, since chicchatting has always been the way that we conduct business...but it's new for some, and it's catching on quick! "Chicchatting" is just this: a lighter, more personable manner in which to discuss business, usually happening online via social media outlets, like Twitter and Facebook. Social media has been bringing people closer together in communication, in a more care-free, informal, and friendly arena for conversations. While business formality is still appropriate in many cases, Twitter allows professional to let down their hair little when they can, and have some real fun with our friends, clients, colleagues, and public. This is exactly why MSM loves reaching out to people on Twitter, it's the perfect place to #chicchat with our tweeps!!
So, get in the game, embrace the trend, and start chicchatting!! It's so chic, and makes doing business feel like a day out with your girlfriends! (and, we can almost guarantee that it will increase productivity in your professional and personal lives...and maybe even you love life!!). Happy Chicchatting!!!

R Patz's Publicist Cuts Off Seacrest Interview During New Moon Premier After "Robsten" Question

Monday night's New Moon premier in LA was as fan crazed and packed as was to be expected. The multi-million dollar box office hit Twilight series has been a enormously huge sensation since the first movie came out last year. Now that the Twilight sequel is setting up to release in theatres November 20, the cast has been on an intense press tour, where their adoring fan wait in hopes to get even just a glimpse of their beloved vampire crew. But, ok, let's get real here...most of the fans in those long lines and huge crowds are there for one reason and one reason only...two words, one name: Robert Pattinson, or "R Patz" as we like to call him. Pattinson is the hunky young Brit who plays the lead role of Edward, a vampire who falls in love with a human, Bella, played by Kristen Stewart. The big huss and fuss lately has been about whether or not these two star-crossed lovers are an item off screen as well. No one can confirm the rumors, and Monday, Ryan Seacrest sat down with Robert at the premier to take his stab at getting down to the truth behind the mystery!

The interview started off great. Seacrest even tweeted, post-event, that "Robert is a class act." But then he followed by saying, "However, the rep he was with yanked him off the air and off the mic when I asked about Kristen. Unreal!" Apparently there are others who'd like Rob and Kristen to keep their relationship, or their non-relationship, under the radar...even so far as to cut off an interview mid-way through!! Rob was a good sport about it, he just smiled and laughed it off as his publicist was dragging him away by the arm...he's so damn cute! And, after watching the clip on YouTube, it is very clear that it was his publicists' doing, not his. That's the crazy world of publicity and PR for ya! Hopefully Ryan will get the follow-up interview, where Robert can really dish about the romance rumors. Until then, we're all just going to have to stay tuned..or watch their insane chemistry on screen at the New Moon showing THIS FRIDAY!! Get your tickets, it's going to be a sell-out showing for sure. Love you R Patz!

Shoe Wish List: Christian Louboutin

Yes, another Louboutin, but we can't help ourselves they scream insanity (in a good way) and MSMPR. Who doesn't want to slip there feet into these sexy shoes? There is no word to describe them really. Black sheer, lace and zipper detail is just the right remedy to make a stunning shoe. The Shoe Genius ( Christian Louboutin) really shocked us with this one. You definitely do not need much to compete with this shoe because it will totally steal the thunder. A 5.5 inch heel and a 1 inch platform you better be practicing before you step out of the house in these. The pewter python peep toes cost $2,455, but red bottom is priceless when it looks this good.

EMRE Hearts and Hope Handbags

Always the philanthropist, it should be no surprise that Emre Erturk the creator of EMRE NY has teamed up with designer Rebecca Lawlor to benefit the Hearts of Hope Foundation. The Hearts of Hope Foundation is aimed at helping women and children who have been abused. The foundation was founded by Rebecca Lawlor, who is very passionate about the cause even bringing the cause into her own designs. Rebecca has patented a signature glass heart that is incorporated in all of her handbags in order to raise awareness to the foundation.

Rebecca realizing EMRE NY's popularity and elegant designs is what inspired the collaboration. EMRE NY has teamed up with Rebecca to design handbags in order to raise money and awareness for the Hearts of Hope Foundation. EMRE NY is happy to be a part of the foundation and we can't wait to hear how they have impacted the foundation. Don't you just love when fashion can be used for a good cause!

The New Posen Price Point

The fashion world has been hit hard with the recession and we have seen a lot of designers cutting back on spending along with designing pieces to resemble the economic times, and replicating The Great Depression. Another designer, Zac Posen is feeling the effects and is making huge changes. Posen has decided to lower his price point with a new line, Z Spoke. The price point is a substantial difference than his previous collections that range from $900-$1,200 and his one of a kind pieces that are in the $20,000s. Z Spoke is a more affordable line that still has everything a Zac Posen piece is meant to have. Starting at $78 a lot of Posen lovers will not be opposed to this change. The line will be launched exclusively at Saks stores and I'm sure will be selling off the shelves. Posen is a brilliant young designer who is making such smart moves by taking reality by its hands and making the most of it.

Posen is creating a line for a real hipster. "This is about a new identity" -Zac Posen. Posen has put his hard work, dedication, and love into Z Spoke for the fashion forward hipster to enjoy. It's not a look for less, it's a brand new look and attitude for the trendsetter.

Looking For a Protector?

Brangelina collaborate, not to add once again to their ever growing family, but to design a high-end line of jewelry. The pair has been working quietly on the serpent accented line for a year now and managed to keep any hint out of the press. The first debut of the line was made when Angelina Jolie wore a diamond serpent bracelet during the BAFTA Awards. Of course in true Angelina spirit there is nothing this woman does that does not go towards a good foundation to help children. She has created a silver baby spoon with a serpent-shaped handle which will benefit the "Education Partnership for Children of Conflict".

Wondering why the jewelry line is entirely made up of serpents? Well, Angelina has always had a fascination with the serpent. She has been intrigued by the old tales of serpents possessing a protective nature. Since building a family with her lover Brad, she has adopted the reptile as the protector of her family. Therefore she has named the jewelry line "The Protector". I'm very excited about the line that is to be launched later this week in Asprey stores all over the globe. The beautiful jewels will definitely become the most popular accessory soon enough!

Tote-ably Clutch-u-lous

Celebrity designer and entrepreneur, EMRE is always stirring up fashion. He knows what women want, and will go to great lengths to see fit. Who would have thought an evening bag would be able to be an everyday bag. EMRE has made it happen. His brilliant craftsmanship and artistic ability has made the impossible, possible. A tote-ably clutch idea, a tote bag that can also be transformed into a clutch. It is the newest addition to his collection and something that has never been done before.

LnA Clothing

L: Lauren Alexander and A: April Leight are the two designers behind the amazing clothing line LnA. It started back in the summer of 2007 when LnA decided to design basic men's T-shirts for women. With the perfect fabric, fit, and color LnA started becoming a huge hit. That summer was the start of something absolutely amazing, and everything that Lauren and April could have hoped for!

LnA Clothing is great for layering an outfit or just throwing on a perfect Tee with some leggings for the day. You can never go wrong with a purchase from LnA. The brand is most known for their signature zipper leggings, which are so comfy and yet so fashionable. “Our idea behind the line has always been to create perfect basics with some edge” - Lauren Alexander.

Today, so many celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, and Jessica Biel can be seen wearing LnA clothing. Elle, InStyle, and Nylon magazine are just a few top magazines that feature LnA clothing. Barney's, and (Henri) Bendel can't seem to get enough of LnA clothing, and neither can we!

Here's a sneak peek at LnA's Holiday 2009 Line...Enjoy!

Lady Gaga's Vogue Moment

One thing MSMPR is ridiculously excited for this Christmas season is the December issue of Vogue Magazine. Of course the magazine never ceases to amaze me but the December issue pacts a surprise. Annie Leibovitz has taken the Metropolitan Opera's production of the fairytale "Hansel and Gretel" and created an outrageous photo shoot. With pieces from Mark Jacobs, and Nina Ricci shoes we are mesmerized by every frame. Also in the Vogue fashion there is always more to enjoy than any other magazine, as they include the famously unpredictable Lady Gaga in the shoot playing the wicked witch. Accompanying Lady Gaga is actor Andrew Garfield and model Lily Cole. The December issue promises to be amazing as the performing arts edition and nothing could be a better fit for a magical season. Anna Wintour's idea to include Lady Gaga in the photo shoot was just another of her brilliant ideas, no wonder she is a legend! This Holiday season is already starting off sweeter than ever.
