Loving Coquette Headpieces

A ballerina turned designer, stylist, and student, Rachel Piskin is an extremely talented young woman. Rachel began her career studying ballet and joined The New York City Ballet at the young age of sixteen. With a creative flare, she started designing headpieces. Her pieces are all inspired by costumes she had worn during her ballet performances. Each headband has meaning behind it, that is why they are so special to her.

The pieces are so detail oriented it is amazing. Her heart and soul goes into each piece, just like anything else she does. Nothing but perfection, Rachel hand makes each piece. Rachel is now studying costume design at one of New York City's prominent schools. She continues to expand her collections with the inspiration of her surroundings.



Coquette Headpieces are Gossip Girl material! Blair would totally be caught wearing an original Coquette design.The materials that Rachel uses are awesome. The fabrics, gems, and feathers are so glamorous. Each design is completely different, and still fulfills Rachel's entire concept of her brand.





The MSM PR team had the pleasure of meeting Rachel at the Armak photo shoot this past Friday. Her designs are just as beautiful in person as they are on her website. We were so pleased to be in the presence of such a talented and inspiring young woman. We cannot wait to see what she has in store.

The ARMAK Photo Shoot

Today was the first photo shoot for Armak Jewelry. Jeweler to the Stars, Armak made it work with diamonds, precious gems, and lots of gold! The entire crew was absolutely fabulous and the MSM PR team couldn't have asked for better! Our hair stylist Daniel Koye created masterpieces today! Creations that will blow your mind, Daniel is a true artist! Photographer and make-up artist, Zach Bowens was magical. His visions turned reality once the models were in front of the camera.


The MC2 models really played up the role of Sophisticated Fashion and Ultra Glamorous young women. Our Hollywood Glam theme was brought to life. They worked that camera like you wouldn't believe! We loved every minute of it. The team we had today was outstanding, and it was such a great pleasure and success to work with them all.

Can Twitter Be Deadly?



This week the power of twitter was clearly evident. Many celebrities and entrepreneurs alike have used twitter to advance their career but, can it end up killing someone completely? This week a horrible rumor was spread stating that Kanye West had died suddenly. The source of the rumor is still unknown although it is clear that twitter members are responsible for making the rumor a huge buzz in the news. People were flooding Kanye's twitter page sending their regards and wishing for him to rest in peace. It is amazing how a rumor on twitter can make it on every news station and radio broadcast in the country within a day. There is no denying that twitter has reached an outrageous level and those who do not take advantage of it are truly missing out. Although, twitters success has been highlighted through a tragic and ugly rumor at least now we can not deny than when used with good intentions twitter can be undeniably beneficial.

25 years old and fabulous.. I introduce you to the and only Bryce Gruber. I will never forget that first time I heard Bryce Gruber's name. I was sitting down one afternoon watching the FOX Business Network, and there she was. Bryce was discussing the significance of social networking sites, most importantly Facebook. I IMMEDIATELY friended her on Facebook, knowing that this was a woman in the industry I just had to know more about. She explains in this interview with MSM how she utilizes Facebook which in turn equals results. She is the business woman with the business plan! Read all about her! MSM: Tell us a little bit about yourself... how did you first break into the industry?
BG: I ditched college in Florida when I was 19 to move back to New York. I just had too much energy pumping through my veins to sit still!


MSM: Why is an internship important? Where did you intern growing up?
BG: I actually didn't intern anywhere which is one of my few regrets. Interning helps you learn the ropes of a business without having all the scratches and falls of doing it all on your own.

MSM:You are indeed a true example of a business woman.. who are you inspired by? Who are your hero's? Any female entrepreneurs that you are motivated by?
BG: Thanks! I'm inspired by a lot of strong people. I like to think I take a little inspiration from icons like Warren Buffet (be conservative, I'm still learning this one), Oprah (put good energy out there), Ariana Huffington (make media your bitch), and even Beyonce (wear tight clothes regardless of the occasion).

MSM: How did you create your blog that the entire world is talking about, http://www.theluxuryspot.com/
BG: I started The Luxury Spot when I was 6 months pregnant with my son. I was too sick to go into the office every day, so I had to get more creative!



MSM: Why the luxuryspot.com, how did you come up with the name?
BG: I don't know... it just came to me. I wanted people to know that they were coming to a site where the authors are people are fine taste and culture, but a little raunchy.


MSM: As a blogger, how hard is it to constantly come up with content, and why is it vital to update a few times a day?
BG: Actually, the more I blog the easier it is to find new content. Now I'm just in the mindset that everything I see and hear is a storyline.


MSM: How has social networking sites such as facebook and twitter helped you to evolve your business and your site?
BG: Facebook has helped tremendously, twitter we're still growing.


MSM: What is your least favorite thing about this industry?
BG: I love almost everything. The only thing I don't like is that a lot of girls in PR are catty... there's no need. And to the blond pr chick that's always touting her bowel-movement-enhancing products: please stop emailing me and trying to get with every ex boyfriend I have. (we won’t ask)


MSM: Do you ever turn your blackberry off?
BG: No. I should though, shouldn't I?


MSM: Describe yourself in 3 words
BG: independent. Wild. Mom.




MSM: Explain the importance of conforming to your followers current financial situation during this terrible recession?
BG: The responsibility of media is to give people what they want to see and read... otherwise the people will look elsewhere. It's just like a relationship. If you don't put out, your man will find a hooker. And in this case, you're theluxuryspot.com and the hooker is a print magazine. I pride myself in getting the best deals FIRST for readers, because even in good times, people want Gucci at a discount.


MSM: Any advice to up and coming entrepreneurs who are trying to launch a product or a business they are truly passionate about?
BG: Just keep plugging along, even if no one else sees your vision. They will (a couple years later).


MSM: What is your definition of success?
BG: Balance. In fact, that's all that should really matter. Most people assume that success = money. To me it's the balance between family, personal time, work, and friends.



MSM: Your site is an absolute success! With millions of readers following, how did you realize that you made it big with http://www.theluxuryspot.com/
BG: Thanks so much! I think it was last winter when we started to get sponsorships from major international companies that I just sat down and though "hmm, this is pretty legit now."


MSM: Favorite Perfume?
BG: I have a few... I like light, fruity, and sandalwood though.


MSM: What is a Perfect NYC night for you?
BG: Depends on my mood. Either cuddled up with my son, or out to dinner with my close friends followed by some debauchery.



MSM: Uptown Sophistication or Downtown Hipster? - which one?
BG: I used to live on the Upper East Side. 66th Street was not my ideal... it was too crusty, old, and lacked flavor. I love downtown. I love the vibe, the people, the crazy little restaurants and street vendors.


MSM: Where do you go from here? What's next for Bryce Gruber?
BG: From here? I guess I'll just go on writing and breeding? JK! ...I'm working on a reality TV show for next spring and some big things for theluxuryspot.com, as well as opening more Village Tea Company stores!

Coca Cola Launching Around-the-World Blogger Tour



"Open Happiness." That is the slogan of Coca-Cola's 2009 the "Coke Side of Life" advertising campaign. But is opening a refreshing Coke truly the secret to happiness? Coca-Cola wants to find out, and they plan on searching the entire globe to find out what really makes people happy. Seems like a daunting task, right? Well, it is…so it’s a good thing they won’t be going it alone. The famous beverage company will be selecting three lucky bloggers through an online voting process that began today, Wednesday, October 21. The selected members will embark on a 206 country world tour to answer that lifelong questions of “what makes people happy?”

Blogger tours traditionally involve companies transporting high-profile bloggers to the Corporate Headquarters, in order to meet with the head executives. Always ahead of the game, Coca-Cola thought of an improved, significantly more fun enjoyable and meaningful spin on the blogger tour.
The Director of Coca-Cola’s Office of Digital Communications and Social media told Forbes, “It’s not about having the Coca-Cola brand first and foremost, center of the screen…It’s about telling the story that involves Coca-Cola, that involves the attribute of what Coca-Cola is about, optimism and joy.”

This is yet another example of how social media has really taken hold of the way companies operate. Social media is not a trend, it’s here to stay, and bloggers are finally getting credit for their talent and influence.

The trip is appropriately being called “Expedition 206”, and the project has already gotten started. The finalists for the tour have already been selected apparently, however anyone is able to vote on who makes the final cut. How exciting, their fate is in your hands! Parisian Chic: IRO Fall

Ramona Singer's Tru Renewal Spa Party at Equinox

Ramona Singer, one of the ladies from the hit Bravo show "The Real Housewives of New York", certainly had the best night with the successful spa party and launch of her skincare line Tru Renewal at Equinox gym in Manhattan. The event was a hit and you know that MSMPR was there to cover the entire event. Ramona was glowing and we could not help but wonder was it the excitement about the Equinox Spa Party or does Tru Renewal really impact your skin so noticeably. With complimentary facials, provided using the Tru Renewal products, it was obvious that Tru Renewal will be next on my checklist for must-have products.
The event was packed with New York's most influential residents. As expected the girls from "The Real Housewives of New York" were there to support their friend. It was evident that they were proud of Ramona's work with this anti-ageing skin care line. Also, Derek Warburton was in the house and fabulous as always, and of course I could not resist in taking a picture of Derek with my two assistants Ashley Bogosian and Ana Paula Dutra.
It should come to no surprise that where Ramona is present so are the ever-present Bravo Television cameras. It is amazing how Ramona is so natural in front of the camera and at no moment becoming someone else. She is one of the most approachable and lovable people you will ever meet. One would assume that the constant questions from the press and photo requests of those who attended the event would be patronizing, this was not the case with this amazing person. She was eager to take pictures and answer all questions all the while having a mesmerizing smile. Ramona is a very driven woman and refuses to settle into mediocrity. She not only juggles being a housewife, mother, and reality show star, she is also a successful entrepreneur many times over. She has been very lucrative with her business R.M.S. Fashions and True Faith jewelry line, which is run with the help of her husband. However, she continues to strive for success in other avenues. This year alone she launched a jewelry line with HSN, and now Tru Renewal will once again bring her into our households.
Tru Renewal has been a project for Ramona for about 15 years and with its launch we have all been blessed! Say "goodbye" to any wrinkles and if you are lucky enough to not have any yet this line is the best way to keep them from forming. All the ladies at the event were raving about the products and have all vowed to use them. I cannot wait to get my hands on Tru Renewal!

Stella McCartney: The New Jumpsuit

One can always expect that at least one great jumpsuit will appear in Stella McCartney's ready-to-wear collections. Year after year, Stella has succeeded in serving up an updated version of last season's take on the jumpsuit. Something that can easily look like bad pajamas in the wrong hands, Stella manages to make into a chic, sexy and feminine ensemble that every woman would love to wear. The Stella McCartney jumpsuit has evolved each year, and for the Resort 2010 collection, it took form as a stunning guipure lace jumpsuit. This particular look has been photographed, featured in numerous fashion editorial articles, and Stella McCartney herself even wore that number to the 2009 Met gala.


One reason this particular jumpsuit has been so popular is because it is extremely on trend for this fall season. Lace seemed to be a trending look on all the runways this past February, which was quickly reproduced by designers all over to be sold in stores for this fall. Bebe designed a pair of lace leggings, priced low at only $129, which are a fabulous off-runway option. Lace has also been popping up in jewelry, evening bags, gloves, tights, shoes, you name it! There's no denying that we love the all-in-one, and Stella's new jumpsuit is from head-to-toe, spot-on for this fall!

Scandal of the Season: Balloon Boy Seeks Fame


Can this really be considered one of the biggest publicity stunts of all time? The Balloon Boy scandal really struck up the media last week. Apparently the entire stunt was premeditated. Fooling everyone including the police, the brains behind the hoax might be getting exactly what they wanted. Will they make it into The Publicity Stunt Hall of Fame?

Tokidoki designs Karl Lagerfeld Toy Figure

Karl Lagerfeld sure doesn't toy around when it comes to fashion. The designer of Chanel, Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld collections has become one of the most famous and successful designers of today's fashion industry, a true icon. So, like many other major icons of our time, his popularity has crossed from the industry to which he has dominated, to the mass-marketed world of pop-culture. Although he has notoriously been quoted stating that he does not believe fashion can or should be marketed to the masses, it seems like he didn't mind a little self-branding here and there. Besides, many other fashion icons have jumped on the branding bandwagon lately, which is becoming an increasing trend in the industry.

So, for all those folks who are true kids at heart, here's a hot new item that is a must-add for your Xmas list: The Tokidoki Karl Lagerfeld toy figure. The famous toy Company, Tokidoki, is introducing their next creation in honor of one of the greatest fashion designers in the world. The 10' figure features Karl dressed in his most iconic outfit (Black and white from top to bottom, the glove, sunglasses, skinny tie….). With a limited production of only 1,000 pieces, the retail for this toy is $185 and can be available at COLETTE.





This is not the first time Lagerfeld has crossed into kiddie-land. Steiff, the famous German maker of stuffed animals, produced a limited-edition Karl bear, 2,500 of which launched at Neiman Marcus back in September 2008. These cuddly teddies' resemblance to Karl is uncanny, and at $1,500 a pop, they're the closet you're ever going to get to bear-hugging the real deal. Karl also made an appearance as a video game character in last year's installment of Grand Theft Auto. He was the game's radio station DJ, spinning electronic and dance tracks and adding some of his commentary.




Don't get your hopes up for a Karl Lagerfeld doll though...In an interview with W Magazine last year, they reported that he "Still, he has no desire to compete with Barbie and Ken. 'Nothing scares me more than people with some doll collection. Frightening,' he said." Well, that's fine Karl, as long as you keep putting out mind-blowing collections each season...we can deal with a stuffed bear, a video game, and now...a cute little Tokidoki toy figure!

Fall Into The Season with OPI

The new COLECCIÓN de ESPANA by OPI has hit the shelves. OPI has given us the perfect colors for the Fall season. "Fall's palette paints nails with drama, an accessory to the season's perfectly polished fashion." -OPI. Oh so true!

I just finished painting my nails with the dark emerald green color called Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow. Let's just say it's AMAZING. When the nail catches the light you can see the hint of green in the polish. I am so glad I picked this color to try! I am obsessed with it. I will definitely be wearing this color all season long.





Aragon is a region in North Eastern Spain and was formerly a kingdom in Spain. All the names of the new collection are inspired by Spain. Each name has a little piece of Spanish culture or a Spanish word in it. The names are unique just like each color! Try it out...you will fall [in love] too.
