Oscar De La Renta Hits The Stage with Barbara Walters, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bette Midler

Who would have thought? Oscar De LA Renta serenading his guests to some lovely tunes!

When interviewed by New York Magazine about his plans for his exclusive event last night, he replied, “I am going to be in my store and I’m going to be singing, and Barbara Walters is going to be singing with me." Indeed he did! I was front-row for all the action, and it was incredible! The store was filled with media, press, editors, New York City socialites. Mr. De La Renta invited friends Barbara Walters and Bette Midler up to the stage. The audience sang all together in harmony, it was a magical show bringing everyone together.

My heart started to race as suddenly a little tiny woman ran through the center of the crowd, making her way on to the stage.... that someone was SARAH JESSICA PARKER. She is just as beautiful in person as she is on Sex and The City! She dazzled in her Fashion Night Out 2009 Tee-Shirt for Charity and a silk purple Oscar De La Renta full skirt.

To complete the perfect night, Oscar De La Renta and Sarah Jessica Parker autographed my 2009 Fashion Night Out Tee-Shirt! It was a night never to be forgotten, people all around the globe experienced a night of fashion, confidence, excitement, and most importantly unity.

Donelle Marie is all about Fashion Week

Donelle was out and about last night, as we jumped from one red carpet to the next. She worked it! Stay tuned for her interviews from last night!

PR TIP: Networking and meeting great contacts is what these events are all about! The public relations industry sits on one foundation, NETWORKING; because at the end of the day, the ONLY thing that separates you from everyone else, is WHO YOU KNOW! So get out there and introduce yourself to everyone you come across. Ask for a business card, and be sure to follow up the next day!

Meet Donelle Marie

I just recently started representing an AMAZING lady.

I am working with my newest client, Donelle Marie Elmasri. Donelle is a shining star with a smile worth a million bucks. She is looking to pursue a career as a host/correspondent and is currently taking on roles as an under 5 actress on ABC's All My Children and working on other projects and movies. I am confident, and I know... she is the NEXT BEST THING!

Donelle graduated with me from Fordham University, and along the way, I saw the success she craves, the attention she captures, and the passion and drive she has to pursue her dreams. I am very proud of Donelle; next month she ventures off to start her new life in LA. I will be back and forth based on her upcoming filming schedule. I am diligently working to build the Donelle Marie Brand and branch out into the film, model, and hosting industries

Previously she worked behind the scenes for Extra, The Insider, Entertainment Tonight, and MTV. Her reels speak for themselves and her celebrity client base is outrageously immense for someone just starting out in the business. Confident, beautiful, unique, TALENTED, driven, funny, and charismatic (to name a few of the fabulous qualities she possesses) , Donelle brings out the best in everyone around her. She has an addictive personality that only leaves someone wanting more. She craves success, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to make it to the top. Stay tuned for her upcoming projects!

NYC's Fashion Night Out 2009

I can honestly say, that after last night, I truly love being a New Yorker. I'm Proud to be a New Yorker!

New York City's designers and retailers participated in the first-ever FASHION'S NIGHT OUT. In partnership with Vogue, the City of New York, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and others, participating retailers stayed open till 11pm and some even later. Shopping parties will occur to encourage support of the city's multi-billion-dollar industry.

Over 700 stores took part in this global event, and in my opinion...IT WAS A TOTAL SUCCESS! Some stores opened their doors to everyone, while some were secured by a tight rope and exclusive list. Thankfully, I was able to make my way into some super fabulous events and parties!

Celebs were out all over NYC to show their support. Here are some of my celebrity sightings:

Intermix (Prince Street) - Rihanna

Emanuel Ungaro - Lindsay Lohan

Emanuel Ungaro - The Housewives of New York

Dior - Charlize Theron

Guiseppe Zanotti - Wendy Williams & Rihanna

Oscar De La Renta - Oscar De La Renta, Barbara Walters, & Sarah Jessica Parker

Dr. Legs Partners with Garden of Life To Endorse Lovely Legs

Varicose veins are swollen veins that can be seen through the skin; they often look blue, bulging, and twisted. In other words, varicose veins are unattractive, and they make any woman who wants to show off her otherwise fabulous legs in a little black dress uncomfortable, to say the least. Nearly 60% of Americans, mostly women, suffer from a venous disorder like varicose veins, and finding a solution can be expensive, painful and frustrating – until now.

Garden of Life has found a better way, and has partnered with The Tesla Group's very own Dr. Emily Splichal aka “Dr. Legs” to endorse its newest vitamin supplement, Lovely Legs™. Backed by clinical research, Lovely Legs™ is the only product in the U.S. specifically designed to target unsightly varicose and spider veins affecting millions of women. Lovely Legs™ is specially formulated with 95% Diosmin, a flavonoid found in citrus rinds such as lemon peels. It is through the antioxidant power of this flavonoid that Lovely Legs™ is able to visibly reduce the signs of varicose and spider veins, as well as the associated “heaviness” and un-comfort often felt in legs and ankles.

Commonly experienced after pregnancy or fluctuations in weight gain, varicose veins exist most often in the legs and feet because standing and walking increases the pressure in the veins in the lower half of the body. So who better to listen to than “Dr. Legs,” podiatrist, fitness instructor, and self-proclaimed expert on correct posture and walking in high heels, while using a product created to make you more comfortable with your legs and feet? Dr. Legs is the perfect go-to person for women who want to live a foot-healthy, fitness-chic lifestyle, and after using Lovely Legs™ you are going to want to throw away the nude panty hose you’ve used to hide your unsightly varicose veins for years. With both “Dr. Legs” and Lovely Legs™, women everywhere will be hiking up their skirts and strutting their stuff in confidence.

"Dr. Legs'" impressive biography is also featured in the “Meet the Experts” section of Garden of Life’s website! To read it and to find out more about Garden of Life and Lovely Legs™, visit http://www.gardenoflife.com/.

Must Have Item for Your Fall 2009 Wardrobe:

Rips, tears, cut-outs, it's all back and ready to attack. Ripped jeans are here to stay, look through the pages of your favorite magazines and all you see is rips, rips and more rips. Get your must-have fall item today! Pair with a hot pair of booties, a chic pump, or your favorite pair of rowdy cowboy boots, this look can be dressed up or down. Torn denim is being embraced by members of the celebrity world, everywhere you look, another raggedy looking pair of jeans is coming at you, but ironically your looking at between $200-400 for a new pair of ripped up jeans. Ripped jeans are here to stay, and they are only getting hotter! So if you want to play the part, and get jean crazy in these economical times, then start ripping!

Personally, I like to go with the Levi's, Current Elliot, or JBrand washes with the Ripped Cut-outs. I'm a HUGE fan. But I have to be honest, there has to be a more affordable way! I have been looking for different ways to recycle the jeans that have been sitting in my closet, collecting dust.... I might just the rip crap out of them! Leave me some suggestions if you have any special jean-cutting techniques!

Tweet, Tweet, Tweet

Tweet, Tweet, Tweet.... we have become a Twitter obsessed Society... that's for sure! So how about this Twitter thing? It is incredible how fast the industry is always changing and evolving. But most importantly, you have to make a decision: You either have to conform to these new practices and adjust to these changes. OR, stick with the old. What will it be?

It is interesting to me that business is now being done over these social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, everyone is doing it! With that being said, I too joined the Twitter craze. Although I am a total newbie, it's safe to say that I am learning. I now get why it is so addicting, its NONSTOP ACTION; someone everywhere, at any given time and any given place is CONSTANTLY doing something, and then we in turn are motivated to go out and do something, its one very crazy and sick cycle... but strangely enough, I AM BEGINNING TO LOVE IT!

I hope you all can follow me on Twitter: @MarigoPR

Tweet ya later!

Tiffany's / InStyle Event

I wanted to take the time out and thank a VERY good friend of mine, Bell Courtney from The Laundress, who invited me to one very special event. Bell brought me along with her to The Instyle and Tiffany's event honoring Maria Sharapova in her upcoming US OPEN TOUR. Blake Lively, Ana Ortiz, Hal Rubenstein, and many more of my favorites were in attendance. The Cooper Square Hotel Private Rooftop was full of beautiful people, a sharp presence, powerful energy, a wonderful red carpet, and of course, TONS of press!

Tiffany & Company teamed up with InStyle Magazine to honor Maria Sharapova and famous Frank Gehry (an absolute icon) for their athletic prowess. Blake Lively also celebrated her 22nd Birthday, where she was brought a super chocolaty cake that looked delish! I also have to say that Blake's dress was a TOPSHOP number that I immediately added into my fall 2009 wardrobe!

An event worth attending, never to be forgotten! And of course... a Tiffany necklace to go home with!

I mingled with celebrity publicist Amy Brownstein who represents the beautiful Ana Ortiz, and personally invited her to the celebrity charity event that I am organizing with The Tesla Group, "Big Top Bowl," for CancerCare Kids!

Your's Truly!

It's Only The Beginning

Hello all,
My name is Marigo S. Mihalos, pronounced "Margo" and after years of experience practicing fashion and lifestyle PR, and fostering relationships with some of the most influential people in entertainment and fashion media, I have decided to branch out and offer my services as a freelance publicist. I hope you all enjoy my blog! I am very new at this, but I am eager to have you along for the journey... it hasn't been easy, but it sure has been exciting! And it's only the beginning...

A little bit about me: As an executive publicist for Soho Fashion, the outerwear licensee for many well-known brands including Baby Phat, Steve Madden, Honee, Coogi, Rocawear and Mirage Leathers, I was able to achieve more than 1,000 editorial credits in the pages of In Style, Lucky, People Style Watch, Cosmopolitan, Woman’s Day, TimeOut NY, Seventeen, Teen, OK! Weekly, In Touch, and Life & Style, as well as on television on The Today Show, The Insider, Style Network, the TV Guide channel, E!, BET and VH1. Now, also working as a freelance publicist and consultant at The Tesla Group PR & Management Company, I proudly represent fitness expert, posture guru and podiatrist Dr. Emily Splichal aka “Dr. Legs.” During my time as her publicist, Dr. Legs’ fitness series “Catwalk Confidence” was picked up by NY Sports Clubs all over New York City, has been featured on NBC’s “The Today Show,” “The Early Show,” “Good Morning America,” “America’s Next Top Model,” and the Style Network, and has taken over in becoming a spokesperson and a fitness expert to the stars.

My next step? MSM PUBLIC RELATIONS, my new venture.... my own independent public relations company that I hope to grow, expand, and revolutionize!

PR is not only what I do, it is something I am truly passionate about. Never taking no for an answer, I will work hard to conquer and further any project that comes my way. I am here to stay; this blog will take you along for the ride.... the events, the lifestyle, networking, the drive, the ambition, and all the steps it takes to get there!

Stay Fabulous,
*Me*
